Cubic 22 draws inspiration from typefaces used on various Olivetti typewriter models, such as the Pluma 22 (Lettera 22), Studio 45, and Facit TP1 and TP2. Crafted by the Swiss design firm Caractères S.A. around 1960. Rounded edges give the typeface a sense of softness. Angular roundness and closed apertures contribute to the typewriter-like appearance.
